A Russian-made hand grenade that was seen at Peshawar’s Mufti Mahmood Flyover was neutralised by the security personnel on Saturday morning.
According to details, the locals called police and Bomb Disposal Squad and informed them about the bomb after which they arrived at the scene and blocked the road from both sides.
They also directed the shopkeepers around the bridge to close their markets and leave the area.
A search operation was launched in adjoining areas to inspect the security arrangements.
The provincial assembly, Peshawar High Court and other important buildings are located along the flyover.
