MAQ International has completed installation and commissioning of a 25 kW solar system at the K-Electric head office in Karachi.
The newly-installed system consists of high performance solar modules from First Solar-USA, resulting in savings of up to 63,000 kWh annually, whilst significantly reducing annual carbon emissions by 28 metric tons which is in line with KE’s sustainability goals and concern for environmental protection, says a press statement issued on Friday.
This project is one of the initiatives executed under K-Electric’s Energy Conservation drive through which the company will promote the use of environment friendly energy, along with offering energy audits to its valued consumers.
“MAQ International is providing high quality solar solutions in Pakistan using first solar technology. MAQ and K-Electric have a long standing relationship over many years, and we look forward to working alongside K-Electric in raising awareness and educating customers on the benefits of energy efficiency and providing reliable, cost effective solutions to the people of Pakistan” MAQ Director Arif Qasim said.
On this occasion K-Electric’s spokesperson added that “K-Electric is continually making efforts in raising awareness of, and practicing, energy conservation by partnering with its consumers, which has so far resulted in conserving approximately 250 MW for the city. With this project we will be harnessing clean and green energy, and aim to continue expansion of renewable energy in the future.”
