PM Nawaz chairs high-level meeting to discuss NAP

A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is underway to discuss the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP).

According to the reports, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security Nasser Janjua has given a detailed briefing regarding the implementation of the NAP. Moreover, the PM is discussing problems related to provinces and certain obstacles that are hindering the implementation of the plan. These obstacles are likely to come under discussion during the meeting as well.

The session is be attended by federal ministers, advisors along with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), DG Intelligence Bureau and DG Military Operations.

A report related to the FATA reforms would also be approved during the high-level meeting.

The meeting is also expected to focus on speeding up actions which would ensure implementation on the NAP. The government sprung into action and has held various meetings related to national security in the past two weeks after the deadly Quetta Civil Hospital bombing, which killed more than 70 people and injured scores of others.

  1. For Nawaz Sharif now its a number game with no substance. He can tell everyone about the number of meetings he held since Quetta! Isn’t he efficient? Dont ask him about whatever was discussed or not discussed!
