Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Irum Azeem Farooque claimed that she is receiving death threats from party workers.

MQM’s MPA Irum in her tweet on Wednesday claimed that she is being threatened by MQM USA workers. She added that she has the evidence and will report those involved.

“I am being threatened from #MQM #USA Workers. I have the evidence and I will report them. This is USA Not Pakistan, that police take it easy,” she wrote in her tweet.

Citing attack on media and chanting anti-state slogans during the party’s hunger strike in Karachi, as reasons for her resignation, Irum said that she had already resigned two days ago but did not disclose it because of the party’s ongoing hunger strike.

“Today I resign, already did it two days ago but didn’t disclose because of the hunger strike. After watching the videos, I feel very embarrassed,” Irum wrote on her Twitter account.

“Pakistan Zindabad, I condemn those who call it Murdababad,” Irum said.
