Rangers release Dr Amir Liaqat

The parliamentary Rangers on Tuesday (today) released Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Dr Amir Liaqat on medical grounds, after detaining him earlier along with several other party workers.

Dr Amir Liaqat said, “There is no treason case against me.” He was arrested from his office the other day after two media houses were attacked by MQM activists following party Chief Altaf Hussain’s provocative speech.

“I love Pakistan and will continue to do so till I die,” said Dr Amir Liaqat while talking to the media.

According to media reports, he is likely to join Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).
