Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan contacted senior British authorities on Monday evening to discuss the issue of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s top leadership’s anti-Pakistan speech.

The interior minister shared detailed proof of MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s speech against the State with the top UK diplomat.

Chaudhry Nisar condemned the fact that a person was using the British soil to take steps against Pakistan’s security.

“MQM chief hurt the sentiments of the nation by criticising the institutions of Pakistan,” he said. “The MQM chief also hurt the sentiments and insulted people from the Urdu-speaking community,” he added.

Chaudhry Nisar said that Altaf Hussain had committed serious crimes and the British authorities should cooperate with Pakistan in bringing any person who commits serious crimes within the ambit of the law.

MQM workers and supporters on Monday attacked the office of ARY News after party chief Altaf Hussain’s instigating speech.

In his speech, Altaf urged his supporters to ‘break’ news channels and urged them to attack the offices of Geo News, ARY News and Samaa TV.

After the attack, Rangers officials raided Nine Zero and sealed the party’s headquarters as well as other party offices in Sindh.

Senior leaders of the party including Dr Farooq Sattar were taken into custody.
