Says TORs proposed by opposition not only effective but also constitutional

Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that the Terms of Reference (TORs) proposed by the opposition for an investigation into the Panama Leaks were not only constitutional but also effective, adding that the issue should be probed at all costs.

According to a private media outfit, Zardari made these remarks during his meeting with Senator Babar Awan in London on Sunday where he was briefed about the stance of opposition parties on the Panama Leaks issue.

Zardari also said that the party would celebrate its golden jubilee year from November 2016 till November 2017.

Senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan meanwhile advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) not to take the Panama Papers issue to the Supreme Court (SC) if it had decided to hit the roads to mount pressure on the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He also said the PPP would not move the apex court regarding the Panama Leaks.
