PM performs groundbreaking of Lahore-Sialkot motorway

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif performs the groundbreaking of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway on Monday (today).

Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif welcomed the premier at the Airport.

According to a spokesperson for the National Highway Authority (NHA), the 89-kilometre-long motorway is being built at a cost of Rs43 million and will be completed in a period of 24 months.

The motorway, being constructed on public-private partnership, will start from Kala Shah Interchange and end at Sambrial, with six interchanges.

The motorway is planned in response to the demands of Sialkot-based industrialists and traders. It will pass through agricultural lands and crosses several important roads connecting centres of economic activity and population.

  1. When the Lahore Rawalpindi motorway was consructed Shabaz Sharif made some dollars. His brother made more. An ex staff officer of Nawaz Sharif shared this information on a TV programe. This is the most lucrative moneymaking process discovered by the two brothers. This entails underpasses overheads and much more material that only Sharif mills provide.

  2. At least some releife to the citizens. Who will prove who is corrupt and not. At some project on the ground for the benefits of industry and people. Otherwise in PPP regime, no work and all in their mouths.
