MCI to develop urban, rural areas on equality basis: Acting mayor

Acting mayor of Islamabad Azam Khan said that the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) will carry out development in urban and rural areas on equality basis.

Azam said that under the leadership of Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz and guidance of Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), MCI is committed to resolve the long standing issues of residents of the city so that Islamabad could be made more beautiful and model city in line with the vision of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The acting mayor expressed these views while talking to media persons during his visit to Union Council (UC) 48, Sara-e-Kharbooza on Monday. The officers of MCI and local representatives were also present on the occasion.

He said that in order to resolve water shortage issue in UC-48 Sara-e-Kharbooza, two tube wells have been approved and installation of these tube wells will begin soon. The mayor promised that the water woes of Union Council Sara-e-Kharbooza, Shah Allah Ditta, Jhangi, Badahana and Union Council Tarnol will be sorted out and a comprehensive strategy will soon be devised to resolve the issue once and for all.

Azam also visited Sangjani and Sara-e-Kharbooza underpasses and directed the formation’s machinery concerned for immediate drainage of water accumulated in the underpasses due to recent rains.
