Thatta-Sujawal bridge to be completed by October: CM

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that Dolah Daryah Khan bridge connecting Thatta and Sujawal districts will be completed at the cost of Rs 2.70 billion by October this year.

Talking to media persons during his visit to Dolah Daryah Khan Bridge on River Indus on Sunday, he said the bridge would not only provide better communication facilities to residents of Thatta and Sujjawal districts but would also help improve economic conditions in the area.

The chief minister said that the project would be completed within stipulated timeframe. It would have significant social and economic impact on the population living on both sides of the river, he added.

Replying a query about the Zulfikarabad project, he said that Zulfikarabad will not only benefit the residents of Thatta and Sujawal but also bring enormous economic opportunities for the entire population of the province. The project will create employment opportunities for local populace, he added.

Later, Murad Ali Shah visited Sujawal district and had a stopover at a local restaurant where he had tea. He mingled with local people and listened to their problems.

The chief minister said that the provincial government was carrying out various schemes for the development and prosperity of under-developed Sujawal district.

On the occasion, Ismail, the son of famous poet Sarvech Sujawali, presented a book of poetry of his father to Murad Ali Shah.

The chief minister was accompanied by Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Muhammad Ali Malkani, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights Rehana Laghari, former provincial minister Sadique Memon, former MNA Abdul Wahid Soomro, Commissioner Hyderabad Qazi Shahid Pervez, DIG Police Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind, Deputy Commissioner Thatta Tahir Hussain Sangi, SSP Thatta Fida Hussain Mastoe and other officials.
