Sindh Rangers Director General (DG) Bilal Akbar said on Saturday that the alert on social media about kidnapping was false, adding that the paramilitary force did not issue such an alert.

The DG said that they did not issue the alert that children should stay at home. He said that such rumours were being circulated to frighten people and these should not be listened to. He asked people not to take such things seriously and report to the Rangers about those circulating them.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Police issued directives to private schools in Karachi to heighten security measures in view of increasing incidents of child abductions in parts of the country.

All private and government schools have been issued notices asking them to submit complete reports on security guards and weapons possessed by them. They have also been ordered to heighten their boundary walls.
