The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage will organize a Child Folk Artists Music Show on August 26 at Lok Virsa.
Lok Virsa Executive Director Dr Fouzia Saeed said that the show aims to discover and encourage new talent in the field of folk music, adding that children have a great potential to express their creativity.
She said that Lok Virsa is making efforts to inculcate knowledge about our culture and music in the younger generation, who are the future of the country.
“It is an effort on the part of Lok Virsa to sow the seeds of pluralistic society in the youth of Pakistan. We believe that it will serve to provide an orientation to children about our rich musical heritage,” she said.
She said that it would also contribute towards creating ownership among children regarding Pakistan’s cultural heritage besides reaffirming our identity of being multi-cultural and pluralistic country, she added.
Dr Fouzia said that it focused on diversity within provinces and serves to afford an opportunity to the masses to witness authentic folk musical and cultural entertainment besides buying traditional items on affordable prices.
A large number of people from different walks of life would attend the event and enjoy the performances of child singers.
