Sarwar appeals SC to take notice of hike in power rates

Former Punjab governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab leader Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has demanded Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of collection of 200 billion rupees from people in the name of national power transmission line and termed it robbery.

While meeting the central vice president of iron market Lahore, Barrister Imtiaz Hussain and others in his office on Saturday, he said Supreme Court must order to abolish this policy because rulers are keen to suck the last blood drop of poor people.

PML-N must tell which revenge is being taken from people. Rulers are not thinking about people but their 50 years ‘income’, he said.

Ch Sarwar said the government must run the country in democratic way instead of majestic way of crown, adding that imposing new taxes everyday has ruined the country and business community is fighting on roads. He said surge of inflation and poverty has engulfed the country due to wrong policies of rulers, but they are not ready to have mercy on the poor.

He said everyday inflation is bombed on people and businessmen in the name of taxes and added that PTI stands by business community on issue of taxes and will participate in their every protest. Government decision of increasing the electricity price up to 70 paisa per unit for 25 years for building transmission line from Matiari to Lahore is extensive injustice.
