AJK PM gives protest call against Modi’s statement

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has given a protest call on August 22 to denounce Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement.

The premier gave the call while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of Mirpur Press Club at the Kashmir Council Islamabad on Friday.

The AJK prime minister said protest rallies and demonstrations would be organised across the LoC and Kashmiris living around the globe would lodge a protest against Modi’s statement, besides seeking international attention towards the ongoing continued brutalities and curfew imposed in occupied Kashmir by Indian army and its aide puppet administration.

Raja Farooq said Kashmir was the unfinished agenda of the division of Indian subcontinent and Kashmiri people were engaged in its completion. He also thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for adopting bold stance and realistic approach on the Kashmir issue which helped highlight the issue at the international level.

Raja Farooq said the Kashmiri people had attached their future with Pakistan before its creation and termed a stable, democratic Pakistan vital for the success of Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.

The AJK PM stressed upon the journalists to play their role in highlighting the Kashmir issue. He said it would be his utmost effort to come up to the expectations of the people of Azad Kashmir who had pinned hopes for a positive change and corruption-free state.
