PM Nawaz inaugurates Navy Warship Fleet Tanker in Karachi


Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday (today) inaugurated the Navy Warship Fleet Tanker in Shipyard in Karachi during his day-long trip.

The PM landed at Faisal Airbase where Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah welcomed him.

After the inauguration of the fleet, the premier will participate in a ceremony organised by National Bank of Pakistan after Friday prayers.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to pay a visit to Edhi Home which is why district administration made arrangements on an emergency basis and cleared dumps along road banks.

The navy fleet that PM Nawaz Sharif is about to inaugurate has been built with the cooperation of Turkey.

The design of the 17,000-tonne heavy fleet tanker was prepared by Turkey, but built in Karachi Shipyard.

The project will further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar are accompanying the premier on the trip.
