‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ is a musical family entertainer, says director

Pleased with the response to the trailer and the songs of ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ (‘HBJ’), the film’s makers maintain that it is an apt weekend watch for multiple reasons. The run-com, as they call this Abhay Deol-Diana Penty-Jimmy Sheirgill and Ali Afzal starrer, revolves around a runaway bride from Amritsar, who unknowingly crosses over to Pakistan, leading to a series of hilarious episodes.

Besides an unusual cast, which also comprises Kanwaljit Singh, Piyush Mishra, Javed Sheikh and Momal Sheikh among others, boasts of an eclectic soundtrack too. Singers like Arijit Singh, Harshdeep Kaur, Mika Singh and Neeti Mohan have rendered the songs composed by Sohail Sen. While conceiving this unique cross-border comedy of errors that promises entertainment with a good mix of songs, director Mudassar Aziz knew what exactly he wanted in terms of fun elements and jokes that can be enjoyed by the entire family together. Not to forget, the term ‘run-com’ too has piqued the audience’s curiosity.

With cinema becoming a family outing in present times, the makers of ‘HBJ’ have ensured that their film has all the qualities to appeal to viewers of all ages.

“The script has been written in such a way that you will recall all the fun lines long after the film is over and have funny exchanges with family members and friends,” Mudassar says.

The film’s producer Krishika Lulla adds, “‘HBJ’ is a fun family entertainer with the perfect amalgamation of a humourous narrative, interesting characters that everyone can relate to and a good soundtrack. I’m hopeful that our audiences will have a great time watching it”

Producer Aanand L Rai sums it up saying, “We, as a production house, have always enjoyed delivering wholesome clean family entertainers to our viewers. And ‘HBJ’ is one more attempt to do so.”
