Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Wednesday announced the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) results 2016, where girls clinched most positions.

Federal Education Minister Engr Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman, while addressing the ceremony, said that the youth is our national asset and a bright future.

He appreciated the commendable efforts of FBISE for achieving the success by following the vision of Prime Minister’s Youth Development Program.

Majority of the FBISE students, he said, passed the National Testing Service (NTS) test and it is only because of conceptual study behaviour in the board rather than the ‘ratta system’.

Pakistan is among those few countries in the world which did not have national education standards, he said, and added that after coming into power, the PML-N government took necessary steps in education sector and finalised national education standards for the country.

He said the national curriculum was being modernised with the consultation of provinces.

FBISE student facilitation system has been upgraded with modern technologies, the minister said.

The minister also announced to hold a ceremony in honour of the position holders to celebrate their success.

He said the toppers would be given awards by the hands of either the PM or president, adding, laptops and scholarships would also be given to them.

The minister congratulated the position holders, successful students, parents, and teachers while advising the failures to work hard for a bright future.

Rawalpindi MNA Malik Abrar speaking on the occasion congratulated the winning students and urged them to work hard for a better future of the country.
