18 suspects detained during combing operation in Karachi, Lahore

At least 18 suspects have been arrested by Rangers and law enforcement agencies during recent combing operations in Karachi and Lahore on Wednesday in a bid to eliminate terrorism from the country.

Rangers’ officials said they have arrested at least six suspects including two target killers Kashif and Junaid from Karachi.

Both the target killers were taken into custody during a search operation in the Bahadarabad area. They belong to the militant wing of a political party and have confessed to their involvement in several killings in the city, said a Rangers spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, they were also involved in Karachi May 12 violence and murder cases of Advocate Sohail Anjum and Advocate Waheed Ahmed.

They even admitted that they killed at least six workers of Sunni Tehreek in another terror incident.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies arrested at least 12 suspects during a combing operation in the Lahore.

Nationwide combing operations were launched following a deadly suicide attack in Quetta that killed more than 70 mostly lawyers and media professionals and wounded several others.
