Baloch Republican Party (BRP) Chief Brahamdagh Bugti has thanked the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his desire to support the people of Balochistan.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Brahamdagh Bugti said that Modi’s announcement of backing the Baloch people was a very crucial decision of the Indian government. He thanked the Indian PM for his remark that Pakistan will have to answer to the world for the atrocities being committed against the people in Balochistan.
Bugti said that the people of Balochistan are suffering and they hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will raise this issue at international forums.
The BRP leader said that the people of Balochistan couldn’t be forced to negotiate at gunpoint.
Brahamdagh blamed that the rulers of Pakistan deliberately kept the Baloch people backward for the last five decades and ignored the province in the development process.
He said: “It is too late; we can’t remain with Pakistan any longer as it has deprived us of basic rights.”
A spokesman for the Balochistan government, on the other hand, denounced Bugti’s statement saying conspiracies of such elements against the country will not be allowed to prevail.
“People of Balochistan have rejected the separatists like Brahamdagh and they completely support Pakistan and the government. They will oppose any such conspiracy which can lead to division,” the spokesman said.
