Police to take action against citizens beating alleged child abductors: DIG

DIG Operations Lahore Dr Haider Ashraf said on Tuesday that city police had taken stern action against the incidents of accusing innocent people for child abduction and beating them without any proof.

He said all the police officials have been directed to take action against the incidents in their respective areas and not allow anyone to take law into own hands.

The DIG directed the officials to keep an eye on those who, for the sake of their personal interest, old disputes and family conflicts blaming innocent people of child abduction.

He said that FIRs had also been registered against those who alleged innocent people of child abduction and beat them.

To a question regarding security situation, Dr Haider Ashraf said that the security would remain tightened and further beefed up in provincial capital particularly at sensitive places, important buildings, entry and exit points, educational institutes, markets, railway stations, bus terminals, banks, parks and public places.

He said that police would continue conducting search operations, besides accelerating snap checking in the city with an aim to avert any untoward incident.

The DIG said that police had taken stern action against wheelie doers on Independence Day besides organising awareness campaigns to educate the youth about consequences of one-wheeling.

To another query, he said the police had introduced an effective system of human resource management through which policemen’s data including attendance, leaves, welfare and other could easily be accessed.

The DIG added that as per the system, if a policemen remain absent from duty or did not mark his attendance, his complete record would be maintained.
