The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sindh, Tuesday summoned the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh Assembly member, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, and apprehended eight officials of the irrigation department.
Accelerating its crackdown against corruption, the NAB conducted a raid at the irrigation department office. During the raid, it detained eight officials of the irrigation department and seized the department’s record. The arrested irrigation employees are allegedly involved in embezzlement of Rs 120 million of development funds. The Bureau has filed a reference against the arrested officials and started further interrogation. According to the NAB spokesman, the Bureau’s investigating team also confiscated the department’s record.
