The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday sought a report on Grand Hyatt’s cancellation case form the Capital Development Authority (CDA) till August 24.
A single bench headed by Justice Athar Minallah heard the case where CDA counselor appeared before the court and requested for time to submit the report. The court awarded time to the CDA counselor and directed him to stop further construction on the hotel.
The counsel for the petitioner, Aitzaz Ahsan, could not appear before the court due to domestic issues.
The hotel owner had pleaded in the petition that he had constructed the 45-storey building according to an agreement with the CDA but the civic authority has allegedly cancelled the lease and sealed the hotel.
