Going to Pakistan is the same as going to hell, says Indian defence minister

Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday said that a visit to Pakistan is like a visit to hell itself.

“Our soldiers sent back five terrorists yesterday. Going to Pakistan is the same as going to hell,” Parrikar said, according to media. “Pakistan has encouraged terrorism, and now they are facing consequences of that policy,” he accused.

Yesterday was the bloodiest Independence Day in the Indian held Kashmir history. In Srinagar, a CRPF jawan was killed, and two civilians killed, in yet another encounter.

Parrikar’s comments reflect the Indian government’s perceptibly hardened stance on Pakistan since the unrest in the Kashmir Valley began in July when Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces, TOI reported.

PM Nawaz Sharif called Wani a ‘martyr’ and say that July 19 would be observed as a ‘black day’ in solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

In the past week, prominent members of the Cabinet lead by Prime Minister Modi himself – have criticised Pakistan’s role in fomenting terror and unrest in the Kashmir Valley and perpetrating human rights violations in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

On Monday, PM Modi in his Independence Day speech sent a message to Pakistan saying he was grateful to the people of Balochistan, Gilgit and Jammu and Kashmir, for thanking him for his criticism of the “atrocities” committed in those places by the Pakistan government and its forces.

Late last week, Home Minister Rajnath Singh told the Rajya Sabha that “no power on earth” could separate Kashmir from India. His declaration came after Pakistan PM suggested that Kashmir wasn’t India’s internal matter, and was the “unfinished agenda of the UN.”

Pakistan in June had asked the US and the UN to intervene in Kashmir.

  1. Is Pakistan denying that it uses fighter airplanes and helicopter gunships to kill thousand of Baloch villagers indiscriminately? Can Pakistan deny that there are mass graves of Baloch people made by Pak army all over the land of Balochistan?

    • Are you even listening to yourself… We are not bloody Indians that we'll kill our own brothers like you did in Indian Punjab, Assam and many other fronts.

      • The world is very much aware of your 'piousness', how shias and other muslim minorities are treated not mention the non-muslims who are forcefully converted, raped and murdered in the name of Islam.

    • Are you denying that as a Muslim in India, you are killed, like Modi killed muslins in Gujrat, and burned Muslims in trains on modis watch.
