Better security linked to attracting more investment

Sindh Rangers Director General Major General Bilal Akbar on Tuesday called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan in the Governor House.

The Rangers director general briefed the governor about security conditions in the province, including security measures taken on the Independence Day, and ongoing operations.

The governor appreciated the performance of Sindh Rangers and other law enforcement agencies on account of maintenance of peace on the Independence Day. He said security forces had given countless sacrifices for peace in the province, particularly in Karachi. These sacrifices are highly respected by the citizens, he added.

He said protection of citizens’ life and property is the top-most priority of the government. He said the ongoing operation will continue till its logical end, adding the provincial government is using all-out resources in this regard.

It was determined mutually in the meeting that steps against lawbreakers will continue without accepting any pressure to end all sorts of terrorism in the province. The governor said that attracting more foreign investment can be only made possible in country’s financial hub, Karachi, by maintaining peace.

He added that foreign investment is increasing due to better condition of peace because of the ongoing operation. He said the government in collaboration with security institutions will provide a suitable environment for attracting more investment in the province.
