The child kidnapping issue is plaguing the country for quite some time and this problem has risen progressively to an alarming and threatening rate.
Recently in my city, a child was snatched away from a woman on a less crowded street near bus stop. The kidnappers kicked the woman away and ran away with the child. Another unaccompanied child was abducted in the street at the crack of dawn. These incidents are heart breaking and the grief the families whose children are taken away from them is unfathomable. They don’t know when or if they will ever see their children again.
Had proper steps taken to stop this problem when it first appeared in one area, it wouldn’t have extended to other cities and become nasty. The Police force has captured some suspected gangs. The citizens have captured many culprits at the scene of crime. But this is not enough. The Government should seriously pay attention to this issue and develop a proper strategy to finally put an end to this series of kidnapping.
On the other hand, the alerted citizens are waiting anxiously for this foreboding atmosphere of disquiet to come to an end while trying their best to be as cautious as possible for the safety of their children.
