Passengers have been evacuated from Terminal 2 of Nice airport, according to photos and reports on social media.

There have been reports of a suspicious package, prompting police to respond. One witness wrote of an “explosive alarm” going off.

The abandoned bag was discovered in the Air France boarding area and travellers were told to evacuate Terminal 2.

Two other ‘suspicious’ packages were found earlier in the same terminal, reports local news site Nice Martin.

The airport is just three miles from the famous promenade where truck terrorist Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel used a hired lorry to kill at least 84 people.

Revellers had gathered on the Promenade des Anglais to celebrate Bastille Day on July 14 when Bouhlel, 31, drove the lorry into crowds.
