Sarmad Khoosat to receive ‘Pride of Performance’ Award

The Pakistani Civil Awards are presented to civilians who have made nation proud. They are known to be the most honourable awards presented to civilians.

This 14th August, Manto star Sarmad Khoosat made it to the list and is to receive the President’s Award for Pride of Performance.

While talking to the media, Sarmad said, “It is extremely overwhelming and no words of gratitude will suffice the love, acceptance and appreciation my country and people of my country have showered me with. I hope and pray that I won’t let them down, ever. I will be eternally indebted to this ‘mitti‘.”

Sarmad Khoosat has directed dramas such as Humsafar and Shehr-e-Zaat. Not only that, he has played the lead role in Manto.

The entertainment industry took to social media to congratulate the recipient. This year, respectable artists like Humaira Channa, Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan, Javed Iqbal, Ghazi Salahuddin, Mustansar Hussain Tarar also bagged awards for music and literature, respectively.

The announcement of this award and other government conferred civil awards, is generally made once a year on Pakistan’s Independence Day. The awards are then presented by the President of Pakistan on the 23rd of March every year.
