The construction of ‘Pakistan gate’ at Iran border in Taftan has entered into its final stage on Monday, as only two months are required for its completion.

Customs Collector Saeed Gadhaun, Brigadier Khalid Baig, Commandant Taftan Rifles Colonel Kashif Ijaz Chaudhary and Deputy Commissioner Chaghai Qadir Buksh Parkani laid the foundation stone of two 30-feet long gates on July 17.

The total cost of the gate has been recorded as Rs 2 crore by customs department while Frontier Corps in Balochistan Taftan Rifles is monitoring the whole construction process.

Commandant Col Kashif Ijaz said that the gates would help in checking the transportation activities at the border.

The first ever gate constructed at the Taftan border by Pakistan Customs will not only serve to improve the country’s image towards the visitors coming from Iran but will also be used to improve the security measures along with providing facilities to travelers heading to Iran.
