Pakistan Air Force (PAF) celebrated the Independence Day of the country with fervour and dignity. The day commenced with an offering of special ‘Dua’ after the Fajr prayer in all the mosques of PAF.

All airmen and civilian staff of PAF assembled at their respective bases, units and headquarters to sing the national anthem.

A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.

Air Vice Marshal Khalid Dabir, Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Personnel) hoisted national flag and read out the air chief’s message of the day.

PAFAir Chief of the Air Staff Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said in his message, “While celebrating our nation’s birth with traditional patriotic fervour, we must strive to be worthy of our ancestors’ tremendous sacrifices and prove ourselves true inheritors of the invaluable reward bestowed upon us by Allah Almighty. Undoubtedly, the challenges we are facing today demand unity in our ranks. In these testing times, nothing but a sense of belonging and ownership with the country can inspire feelings of patriotism and self-sacrifice in the service of the nation. We must show compassion for others by being forthcoming and lending a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in distress. Indeed, Pakistan is our identity and through the spirit of nationalism we can promote national unity and supreme loyalty to the motherland.”

On the auspicious day of independence, similar ceremonies were held at all PAF Air Commands, air bases and other establishments.
