Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla directed the officials concerned that the campaign against unregistered vehicles should be accelerated.
Checking teams consisting of excise and taxation officers should be made vigilant on main arteries of the province, he said while presiding over a meeting in his office on Monday.
Excise and Taxation Director General Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh and Director Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui also attended the meeting.
The Excise DG briefed the minister about the performance and tax achievements of the department.
Chawla directed the officers concerned to make one window operation more effective to facilitate the people who visited Civic Centre and redress their grievances.
“It is must to maintain a proper record of vehicles and their owners because it is a part of National Action Plan to avert any untoward incident,” he added.
He said that the department is in close liaison with all the other stakeholders and unless we work together, we cannot achieve our targets. The Sindh chief minister has given clear directives to curb corruption in all departments and to facilitate the people at their doorstep, the minister added.
