Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe the Indian Independence Day as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that India had usurped their inalienable right to self-determination.

The day will be marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir, call for which has been jointly given by All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Protest rallies and different functions would be held in the territory and in the world capitals to highlight different dimensions of the Kashmir dispute and Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris.

A march led by Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir President Abdur Rashid Turabi will also be held from Muzaffarabad to Chikothi to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir.

Besides, the protest demonstrations will be held in London, Brussels and other main cities of the world against the Indian brutalities on the people of Kashmir.

Meanwhile, APHC Secretary General, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar while referring to 15th August as Independence Day of India said, “This Day is the most unfortunate and darkest day for us as India has occupied Jammu Kashmir forcibly and illegally.”
