Driver dead, 10 injured in road mishap

At least one person died while ten passengers were injured in a road accident near Panjudero village early on Monday.

The condition of four passengers was stated to be serious by the duty doctors.

According to details, a wagon going from Larkana to Sukkur packed to its seating capacity overturned as it collided with a donkey cart near Panjudero village.

Van driver Deedar Ali Bhutto, resident of Chooharpur village, died in the hospital and 9 others, including two women, were injured.

The injured were identified as Ghulam Shabir Gaad, Sajan Ali, Rab Nawaz Mangi, Zeeshan Kori, Abdul Ghaffar, Maqsood Ahmed, Shahid Hussain, Ghulam Sughra and another aged woman.

All the injured were rushed to Naundero Government Hospital, from where four injured, including Abdul Ghaffar, Shahid Hussain and two women were shifted to Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana as Naundero Hospital has no emergency treatment facilities.

The dead body was handed over to the heirs after medico-legal formalities and postmortem.

Naundero police have impounded the van and towed it to the police station but no case has been registered so far.
