Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja stressed the need for promoting linkage between policy formulation and the practitioners of public policy.

He said this while addressing the PAS officers at the joint launch ceremony of the innovative website of Pakistan Administrative Service Association (PASA) titled ‘www.civilservice.org.pk’ and ‘Pakistan Administration Development and Public Policy Journal’ published by Pakistan Administrative Service Alumni Research Center at Civil Officers Mess, said a handout issued on Saturday.

He termed the launch of the new website and new research journal of PASA, an effort of a significant nature that could bridge the gap between the developed countries and the developing country, like Pakistan.

“We should promote quality while disseminating various ideas to progress in the field of public administration, development, management, etc.,” he added.

He said it is the quality that matters while connectivity was about to dovetail with the concept of ‘Rabt-e-Millat’ which could open new vistas of progress and prosperity.

The nations which were not influenced by the industrial revolution of France fell into clutches of colonisation, he observed.

Similarly, those nations that would miss out on the ICT revolution would end up with no space to progress in the modern world, he added.

Khawaja lauded the innovative approach of young officers belonging to PASA and said, Pakistan Civil Service had always maintained the highest standards of dedication to the service of the motherland.

With the access to better quality connectivity, they would be able to deliver more efficiently and could promote a softer image of Pakistan throughout the world, he added.

He paid tributes to scores of PAS officers who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.

Officers belonging to various commons of Pakistan Administrative Service posted in the province of Punjab participated in the launch ceremony.
