Tricolour accessories demands are high ahead of Independence Day, with people of all ages especially the youth and children, thronging roadside stalls that have sprung up all over the country.

A report aired by a private news channel said selling flags, t-shirts, caps, wristbands, hair bands, badges, bangles, stickers and other accessories are quite popular among citizens.

The young patriots are also collecting flags of various sizes made in a wide variety of fabrics.

“I have collected different designs of badges, while my friends have bought headbands and wristbands in national flag colours. We will wear them on August 14,” Waqar Ali, a youngster said.

Another college student said to flaunt love for the motherland, and added, “We purchased newly designed tricolour t-shirts, badges and wristbands, especially for the Independence Day.”

“I want to paint the tricolour on my face and enjoy a bike ride with my friends carrying our flag on 14 August,” he added.

The shops are also selling dresses in green and white colours to attract young girls.

Tricolour bangles and dupattas are trendy among city girls. Some girls have plans to go for nail paints and tattoos to show their love and affection for the nation.

“I will wear a tricolour shalwar suit on this day. I ordered two tricolour dresses from an online shopping site for this day,” said Jannat Ali.
