While Rome burnt, Nero didn’t, historians inform us, play the fiddle.

But while Quetta was burning, our very own Chaudhry Nisar was busy burning calories. When the premiere wanted to take him along to Quetta, he was informed that after getting up a little late, the interior minister goes on a leisurely walk. And then, on to brunch at the stately Punjab House in Islamabad. In fact, it’s sort of his camp office.

His cell phone, the PM was informed, is meant not to take calls, but to make them. Find him yourself.

Former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry seems to have written to the concerned authorities that he hasn’t been allotted a house in Islamabad. He would very much like one as he can’t possibly afford one.
