The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has set up a new checkpost at Koral for scanning of vehicles.
The checkpost completed at a cost of Rs 50 million will be formally handed over to the army on August 14, according to sources.
The sources said that checkpost has separate rooms for police personnel and the army men. A control room has also been established to monitor vehicles through CCTV cameras.
RDA’s Engineering Director Muhammad Akram Soban and Deputy Director (Engineering) Akram Nadeem told the news agency that the army had requested the authority to set up a checkpost in the area.
They said that terrorism relatedterrorism-relatedcontrolled to a great length by setting up such projects, making it difficult for criminals to enter the city through such points.
