Aitzaz lashes out at Nisar

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan on Saturday lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), stating that the incumbent government has failed and its members are corrupt.

Speaking to media in Lahore, Aitzaz said that the government is finding excuses to evade accountability in corruption cases. He went on to say that the government is using delaying tactics to frame out terms of reference (TORs) for a commission to probe Panama Leaks.

The PML-N led government has totally failed, he said, adding that an anti-government movement will be launched at any cost.

To a question regarding Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s remarks in a press conference on Friday, Aitzaz said that he does not take Nisar’s statements seriously.

He said that one must be a fool to make a request to Nisar in favour of Dr Asim Hussain and Ayyan Ali. The interior minister cannot fall asleep whenever he criticizes him, Aitzaz added.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senator further alleged that the rulers are acting as ‘commission agents’ as they deduct their commission from the amount spent on every project.

“The country is being robbed in the name of Nandipur Power Project,” Aitzaz further said.

The senator said that he does not have any LPG quota nor owns any private business. “If someone has an LPG quota then Nisar should feel free to cancel it,” he said.

These remarks by Aitzaz came a day after Interior Minister Nisar took a dig at PPP and questioned the relation of PPP and model Ayyan Ali who is facing money laundering charges.

He recalled, “One responsible person came to me and offered reconciliation with PPP if Ayyan is released and Dr Asim is bailed out, which is not possible for me as an honest person.”

Nisar said some leaders of PPP have made a nexus against him and they levelled false allegations against him which was not appropriate.
