IHC summons SHO Shalimar in citizen recovery case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday has summoned the Station House Officer (SHO) of police station Shalimar in person in citizen recovery case and adjourned the hearing till August 18.

A single bench of IHC headed by Justice Ather Minallah conducted the hearing of the case.

Advocate Haider Imtiaz appeared before the court on behalf of petitioner Maira Sajid, while Faisal Rafiq standing council and Investigation Officer (IO) Rashid Ahmed appeared before the court on behalf of the federation.

During the course of the hearing, the standing council has requested the court to give more time to submit a reply by the Ministry of Interior and Defense.

The court inquired from investigation officer if any citizen was missing who was responsible in this regard. The officer responded that it was the responsibility of the police.

The council of petitioner informed the court that it could be identified through security cameras as to who abducted Sajid Mahmood, the mission person.

Later, the court ordered the Shalimar SHO to present a report of the case in person and sought a reply from the ministry of defense.

The petitioner Maira Sajid in her petition informed that court that on March 14, Sajid was arrested by the Elite Force in a raid.
