Dhoni launches trailer of his biopic in Jalandhar

The makers of ‘MS Dhoni — The Untold Story’ have a unique plan to launch the film’s trailer.

Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, on whom the film is based, unveiled the trailer in three different cities, along with his screen avatar Sushant SinghRajput.

The intriguing teaser has already piqued the curiosity of viewers and now fans are eagerly waiting to meet their cricket idol during the round of promotions.

The trailer was launched by Dhoni and Sushant in Jalandhar, New Delhi and Mumbai.

Though many were under the impression this was skipper’s Mahendra SinghDhoni’s first Jalandhar visit, however, this notion was soon busted when the cricketer revealed his strong connection with the city during the launch of the official trailer of the movie MS Dhoni — The untold story.

Dhoni who was accompanied by film director Neeraj Pandey and Fox Satr Studios CEO Vijay Singh launched the trailer as fans thronged the Professional University (LPU) Phagwara in large numbers to get a glimpse of their favourite cricketer.

Dhoni who came on a special charter plane, recalled his intial cricketing days when he use to travel by train, which took three days to reach Jalandhar, from where he purchased his bats. “Jalandhar and Meerut have hold a significant place in my life and heart. No cricketer can ever forget his connection with these two cities, known for their world-class handcrafted bats,” said Dhoni.

It was because of this connection that makers decided to launch the trailer here. A close friend of Dhoni, Arun Pandey said that the film was shot at real locations, where actor Sushant Singh Rajput practiced for three hours daily along with the coach, trainer to make it look real.

Claiming that winning ‘World Cup 2011’ was the most significant turning moment of his life, Dhoni said, “There is no substitute for hard work dedication, sacrifice, being honest to yourself in life,” he said.
