Security arrangements for the Sindh High Court (SHC) and subordinate courts have been increased in the wake Quetta incident which claimed at least 70 lives including that of Bilal Anwar Kasi, president of the Balochsitan High Court Bar Association.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Rangers director general met lawyers’ leaders in the SHC and assured them to provide foolproof security to the lawyers in courts.

The personnel of the paramilitary force have been deployed at the SHC and city courts, and snap checking was being carried out at all entry and exit points of the court buildings. The routes leading towards the Karachi Bar Association were blocked with vehicles. The Rangers officers visited the SHC and reviewed the security measures.

On the other hand, the legal fraternity continued their boycott of court’s proceeding at the SHC and lower courts. The lawyers stayed away from courts, however, urgent cases were taken up by the judges in their chambers.
