Residents of Islam Nagar in Faisalabad on Wednesday staged a protest against prolonged power cuts in the locality.
The angry protesters blocked the Sargodha Road and chanted slogans against the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company. The residents said that they had been without electricity for over eight hours.
The furious protesters also thrashed some FESCO officials who had showed up to hold negotiation with the protesters.
The residents claimed that several complaints have been made to FESCO but the officials were only giving them verbal assurances about restoration of electricity.
The protesters later dispersed.
