Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the government would bear the expenses of Nergis Gul’s studies who secured 1,004 marks in Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) annual examination.

The CM met the bright student at CM house with her family and awarded her a cash amount of Rs 5,00,000 and a laptop. He also assured her parents that the government of Punjab would take full financial responsibility of her academic career.

He lauded the hard work of the shinning girl who bagged the distinction despite facing number of difficulties in her hut in a slum area of Chakwal district.

“I greatly respect her hard work, ability and capability,” the chief minister remarked.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the glowing student, and her teachers. He also appreciated her parents and said, “I salute your daughter for her hard work and dedication”.

The CM said, “Obtaining positions of poor families in difficult circumstances is appreciable and proved that hard work is key of every door”.

He said whatever profession she wants to adopt, the government would support her, adding that we welcome her if she wants to carry her studies in Lahore.

The government will not let her talent go to waste only due to lack of resources, he said.

  1. Excellent performance by a poor and courageous girl of Chakwal and very impressive response from the state representatives. She is matter of pride for people of Chakwal and an example for the students who are blaming on lack of resources rather than working hard.
