NAB approves initiation of 7 enquires, scraps probes against former Sindh CM, others

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has given a go ahead for seven enquires against different politicians and others, including former advisor to Sindh CM Ziaul Hassan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member parliament Syed Iftikharul Hassan, also known as Zahray Shah, and Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University Prof Dr Parveen Shah.

The NAB Executive Board meeting was held with Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry in the chair. The meeting discussed various corruption cases and decided to start probes in various cases.

The board gave approval to start investigation against MNA Iftkharul Hassan for having assets beyond known sources of income. The board also gave approval for enquiries against Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University Perveen Shah and against the head of a private power company, Kamran Kyani, as well as a number of PSO and PPLO officials.

NAB also said ongoing enquiries against former Sindh CM Arbab Ghulam Raheem and CDA officials have been scrapped due to unavailability of evidence.
