IP Pipeline: A Ray of Hope

Keeping in view the ongoing energy crisis in the country, the news that Pakistan is set to negotiate Gas Sale Purchase Agreement with Iran to facilitate the implementation of the already-delayed Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project is commendable. Moreover, it is also praiseworthy that the construction work on the 700-kilometre Gwadar-Nawabsha gas pipeline is expected to start soon on the same route of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project in collaboration with China. This move certainly calls for an applause because it would help generate 4,000 MW of electricity besides creating job opportunities in the remote areas of Baluchistan and Sindh. It is hoped that the government will continue its efforts to resolve the gas shortfall problem which will consequently help in meeting the energy demands of the country.
