PTI UK and Europe Head Sahibzada Jahangir has condemned the bomb attack in Quetta resulting in a huge loss of lives. He demanded that the Interior Minister Choudhry Nisar be sacked immediately and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stands accountable in the National Assembly, charged with the failure of providing law and order which is the basic human right of all citizens.

Jahangir said, “Can you imagine this kind of a human catastrophe happening in England? UK Home Secretary and intelligence agencies heads would have been under immense pressure to resign. The British PM would have been standing before the crowded Parliament. High-level investigations would have been launched; special terror squads would’ve been formed so that such incident won’t ever happen again”

He said tragically it is the opposite in Pakistan. There is one rule for the poor and another rule for the rich, he lamented. Jahangir said on a daily basis helpless citizens are killed and to bid them goodbye we have the favourite phrase of “Shaheed” (martyr). As far as the rulers are concerned, they have less faith in Allah and destiny, but more in their armoury surrounded by a fleet of bulletproof cars. For God’s sake, take a lesson from the recent history, Jahangir urged the rulers to look around. Saddam Hussain, Col Gaddafi and Hosni Mubarik had no hiding place once the masses were out on a loose, he added.

Jahangir in an appeal to Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif urged the General to exert pressure on the prime minister to hand over the affairs of the interior ministry to GHQ. Jahangir stressed he is not advocating for the army rule, but since the civil administration has failed and PM Sharif has completely lost authority, alternate resources will have to be seriously considered to save children, women and men from further atrocities.
