The Laws Review Committee chaired by Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday reviewed progress on different draft laws that have been placed before the parliament for enactment.
The committee was briefed on the progress of the Draft Companies Bill 2016, which has been finalised by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The meeting also discussed the progress regarding devising a mechanism for making appropriate improvements and amendments with regard to future legislation.
The objective of the committee which meets regularly is to review the laws with a view to identifying anomalies and ambiguities, as well as to bring them at par with the contemporary requirements.
Federal Minister for Law Zahid Hamid, Minister of State for IT Anusha Rehman Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Law Barrister Zafarullah and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Khwaja Zaheer Ahmad attended the meeting.
