The fire that erupted at the provincial office of Punjab Bait ul Maal has destroyed the records entirely.
It took six fire tenders to extinguish the fire.
According to the reports, the fire mysteriously erupted early in the morning on Sunday at the office located near Shimla Pahari here and engulfed all the record rooms.
The guard of the record room informed the Rescue staff which brought the fire under control within an hour.
Past history of fires in Pakistan is : aag lagti nahin lagai jaati hai – specially if it is on Sunday. Destroying the record is another way of eliminating any evidence of wrong-doing.
