The security agencies on Thursday arrested six terrorists from Quetta belonging to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS).
Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti while addressing a press conference on Thursday said that the terrorists had planned an attack on the occasion of Independence Day of Pakistan. He said that six alleged terrorists were arrested from Quetta who confessed to involvement in many heinous crimes.
“The arrested terrorists were members of a banned outfit and were involved in acts of terrorism, murder and bomb blasts in different cities of the province,” Bugti said.
He said that RAW and NDS agents had started targeting security forces after killing innocent civilians. He also revealed that there were terrorists training camps in Afghanistan.
The home minister said the terrorists were arrested in operations in two areas of Quetta, Killi Shabo and eastern Bypass.
“The Balochistan government stands by its security forces. It is a result of negotiations with the rebels that those who were residing in mountains are returning to mainstream,” he said.
Bugti said that all the law enforcement agencies are engaged in war against terrorism round the clock and the menace of terrorism would be wiped out with the cooperation and support of the people.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri reviewed the law and order situation of the province in a meeting. The meeting directed the law enforcement agencies to accelerate operations against evil forces through joint course of actions.
