Kishore Kumar led an intriguing life and was known for his crazy antics. His Warden Road flat once bore a sign saying “Beware of Kishore”. Reports say that once he kept shaving off parts of his moustache and hair until his producer paid him his full fee. He once put a board saying ‘Mental Hospital’ at his doorstep in Madhya Pradesh.
Kishore Kumar also had many prestigious accolades to his name. He won a record 8 Filmfare awards for Best Male Playback Singer, for songs such as ‘Roop Tera Mastana’, ‘Dil Aisa Kisi Ne Mera’, ‘Khaike Pan Banaras Wala’.
Kishore sang not only in Hindi but also in Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Oriya, and Urdu.
His songs like ‘Khaiyke Paan Benaras Wala’, ‘Iss Mod Se Jaatey Hain’ have transcended generations and continue to mesmerise people even today.
