Qaimkhani approaches SHC for bail

After rejection of bail by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Pak Sarzameen Party’s (PSP) President Anees Qaimkhani approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday seeking the bail in terrorists’ treatment case.

The ATC judge on Wednesday declined to grant bail to Qaimkhani and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rauf Sidddiqui reiterating that there were sufficient evidences to connect the accused with the offence.

Taking his plea to the SHC, Qaimkhani through his counsel submitted that his name was included in the case on political basis as he was out of the country when the case was registered.

“I was out of Pakistan from 2013 to 2016. He was nominated in the case on political rivalry. The court is requested to grant me bail as I did not commit the offence that labeled against me,” he submitted in the petition. Qaimkhani along with other political leader had been facing charges of asking Dr Asim Hussain to treat the militants at two branches of Ziauddin Hospital. It was pertinent to mention here that earlier the SHC had rejected the bail plea of Qaimkhani and asked him to approach the trial court.
